Owsley - Singles, Bonus and Compilation Tracks

I had been working on this project before hearing the news of Will Owsley's death.

This is a collection of tracks by Owsley from singles, guest appearances, and compilations:

  1. Psycho (A-side of single released in 2005)
  2. Changes (EP Track from Christian Band "Blue Sky Secret", co-written and some singing by Owsley)
  3. Endlessly (Demo)
  4. Mess With Me (Japanese bonus track from first album)
  5. Leave It All Behind (Demo for Amy Grant)
  6. Upside Down (B-side of single released in 2005)
  7. Got a Lot On My Head (From "Substitution Mass Confusion" Cars tribute)
  8. When Lonely Comes Around (From Owsley Yahoo Group sung by Owsley and Vince Gill and written by Owsley/Gill)
  9. Band On the Run (From Paul McCartney Tribute "Listen to What the Man Said")

Please fill me in if you know of any more rare tracks I've missed. So sad that there will be hearing no new work from Will.

Please support Will's family in their time of need. Donations in honor and memory of Will Owsley can be made to:

Thanks Haper, this (plus the two CDs and the live recordings) seems to be all of the songs Owsley ever released. So sad. Maybe we will see some release in the future. But I don't have much hope.

definitely owsley. wondering if Endlessly and Leave it All Behind are from The Hard Way sessions or before? the vocal treatment is more like his first record

I found that "Leave it All Behind" shows up on Amy Grant's 1997 album "Behind the Eyes". It's attributed to Owsley and Grant. It's the same song for sure. I haven't found any other occurence of "Endlessly".

Thank you so much for posting this! I have something equally obscure if you guys are interested: It's a recording of him sitting in on guitar with the Pat McGee Band back when he opened for them. No idea what the song is called.

The "Psycho/ Upside Down" single is still available officially on iTunes. Owsley's royalties probably go to support his family now, so it would be cool if you guys would buy those outright.

Plus you never know; if there is enough support for his official releases, maybe some of the other stuff he recorded will be released in some form eventually. I know some people are working on a reissue of the Semantics album.

As for other stuff that's out there right now, he's featured very prominently as the lead guitarist on Amy Grant's "Time Again" live DVD, as is Millard Powers (bassist for Semantics and longtime writing parter) and one of Owsley's touring keyboard players. It's an enjoyable watch, and he's in some of the bonus features too.

I'd be very interested in the Pat McGee stuff if you care to share it. I do hope that somebody can pull together an official release of the unreleased stuff (like they did for the postumous Jeff Buckley releases), however that's got to be a tricky project to pull off.

Is there another link to these tracks and any others other than the 2 cds I already have? I'm new to his music.

Any chance to re-up this? Minus the Pyscho single of course. Link seems to be dead. would love to hear these demos. Thanks

Didn't you also post Millard Power's self titled CD? It doesn't seem to be available anywhere else?
